Use Case Description:

Provide a reference test bed of open source 5G and Open RAN components, as a set of known working and tested deployments, through the active maintenance of documentation and deployment

-Problem Statement

There is no complete or monolithic project that can be deployed as a complete, end-to-end 5G and Open RAN system. Instead, deployments need to be created from multiple open source projects, that may require different degrees of integration or configuration. In many cases, there are actually multiple open source implementations for some components, showing the strengths of the open source communities. This project will maintain an open source repo of Ansible roles and playbooks, along with applicable documentation, to streamline the deployment of reference testbeds, providing an End-to-End, working configuration of the radio access network (RAN), 5G core, and other components (such as RAN Intelligent Controller RIC, service management and orchestration (SMO) platform, etc.).

Future releases of the project will include automated testing of each reference testbed included in the documentation, along with publication of those test results for each artifact set (i.e. upstream component versions) on a common results dashboard.
