OpenAN - LFN Onboarding as Candidate Project

OpenAN - LFN Onboarding as Candidate Project

OpenAN onboarding status. This page tracks the end-to-end onboarding of OpenAN as an LFN candidate project, populated from the OpenAN Onboarding Status Google Doc using the LFN Candidate Project Onboarding Status Template. Audience: LFN team (internal) and OpenAN founding members (China Mobile, Huawei).

About this template. This is a proposed format for tracking the end-to-end onboarding of any new LFN candidate project. It is a subpage of the existing DRAFT - LFN Candidate Project Data Template and is intended for review and feedback before adoption as the standard.

To use it for a new project: copy this page, replace placeholders (shown in <angle brackets>), and update each item's status as the project progresses.

About the Status Field

Each action item carries a status field. The values used in this template are native Confluence status lozenges. Once Yogi Status & Dropdown is approved on the LFN tenant, each lozenge can be replaced with a Yogi dropdown (type /yogi and select Onboarding Status in place of the lozenge) so any user can change the status inline without entering edit mode.

1. Project Overview

Mission

The name of the technical Project (which shall also be used to identify the Series established hereby) is "OpenAN" and the mission of the Project is to develop a suite of open-source projects for autonomous networks. It supports the development and deployment of telecom agents, enabling multi-vendor, cross-layer, and cross-domain integration, and accelerating the evolution of autonomous networks toward L4 and L5.

High-Level Description

OpenAN is an open source, vendor-neutral multi-agent collaboration framework for autonomous networks, providing the A2A-T SDK, registry, and orchestration components that enable telecom operators and vendors to deploy and coordinate AI agents across service and network layers.

One-Sentence Pitch

OpenAN is an open, vendor-neutral framework that accelerates the deployment of end-to-end closed-loop autonomous networks through multi-agent collaboration, industry-standard interfaces, and shared telecom knowledge, with the goal of accelerating the evolution of autonomous networks toward L4 and L5.
