April F2F Key Takeaways and Open Questions

The following page is a collection of takeaways from the Joint ONAP, CNTT, OPNFV F2F.  These are focused on the items most relevant to this workstream and CNOVP.



Decisions

  • CNTT's RA-2 will be the place/hub for CNF Requirements

  •  

    • RA-2 can reference requirements in other projects and communities (ex: CNF Conformance)

  • NFVi Performance testing will move out of the badging program, and move to a benchmarking initiative.

  • Performance testing of CNFs should be out of scope of OVP

  • We'll need a first draft of CNF Requirements in RA-2 in the Baroque release, but since the RI-2 isn't till 2Q2021 we'll have time to get feedback and revise.  That's when the badge will launch.



Open Questions

  • Do we need an overarching test framework and if so what will it be? This depends on how many projects are really testing, and if we need to integrate the results.

  • What is the role of OPNFV testing tools in regards to RA-2?  I saw mapping exercise and work being done with RA-1 and RC-1, but no mention of RA-2 yet

  • Will the badges be binary or tiered?  If tiered will it be scoring based on different categories of prescribed requirements?  If scored, there was the open question of how we track which requirements were met vs. not and who can see that.
