Dates & Schedule update

  • New dates so far seem to be favorable to the June 22-25th dates.

    • #AGREED June 22-25 are the new dates

  • Do we want to adjust the timeline for topic proposals?

    • There seems to be a general agreement that all topic proposals should be submitted no later than Jun 3, 2020.

    • This should give the committee enough time to finalize the schedule and publish it in advance of the event.

  • When schedule planning, ask the presenters so that they allow enough time for Q&A at the end of their allocated time slot.

  • How long and what timezone should we target?

    • Need to build in an official coffee break.

    • 4 days of 4 hours of sessions with a break added.

      • 2x 15 min breaks or 1x 30m event?

  • Social after the event?

  • Open Plenary session to kick things off?

Content Overview

  • Topic Proposals page is starting to get some submissions.

    • Please encourage your teams to start submitting their topics here.

  • There is a need to ensure that there is more cross-community collaboration and discussions.

    • One effort should be that we operate on a more uniform time to allow for consistent breaks to allow for bio/personal needs.

  • Should we dedicate a specific day(s) to cross-project collaboration?

    • We should wait for more topics to come in before we decide, but something we should keep in mind.

  • Scott shared some tips that were under development for topic proposals.

  • We should also look at Intern lightning talks.
