Topic Description

We will present service modelling and deployment of a 5G RAN gNB consisting of CNFs (i.e. CUCP, CUUP and DU) and PNFs (i.e. RU). The planning data for the gNB, such as planned nodes, sites and cells, is stored in AAI at design-time, and during operations, the relations to these objects are created when the gNB is deployed.
Topic Overview
In this presentation, we use ONAP to deploy a RAN 5G gNodeB (consisting of a CUCP, CUUP, DU and RU), as per the RAN planning data stored at design time in AAI.
Before deployment, at design time, RAN Planning data such as planned sites, cells and gNodeBs are created in AAI, and the gNodeB service model is created in SDC.
The gNodeB is deployed using the SO Macro Flow, referencing the data from RAN Planning.
After deployment, the relation of the gNodeB to the cells and sites is present in AAI. A RAN engineer can use this data to find the cells and sites being controlled by the gNB. This is also useful for alarm correlation.
