ONEEF Summary

LF News from event  - positive coverage

  • SONiC moves to LF

  • Google + LF launch Nephio project

  • LFN new members, Security WP

Paid social campaign

  • $4k budget (total spend $4900)

  • Targeted digital ads via Google, Meta/FB

  • Cost per conversion ~$52 (positive - compared to recent RISC-V campaign that netted $132/conversion)

  • For next time:

    • Look into targeting LinkedIn / Twitter

    • DTF and ONE Summit will have very different audiences; take that into account when planning campaigns

Website Refresh

New website update live - phase 1 complete. Most of the content is ported over. Phase 2 in progress, targeting end of month. Take a look at the site and let us know your thoughts.

Mid-Year MAC Strategy-in-Review and KPI Grading

Look at initial objectives vs. current status:

  • May need to re-assess what our KPIs are given level of difficulty in compiling proof points and negative resources on the LF staffing side

  • Focus resources on ONE Summit in H2

Events Update

ONE Summit naming - two naming options in motion:

  1. Open Networking Summit (with short technology sub-head)

    1. Pros:

      1. Long-standing, strong brand

      2. Goes back to roots

      3. Good ROI on continued investment in trademark

      4. Sets focused intention with ability to evolve over time with the technology and business landscape

    2. Cons:

      1. Possible alienation effect

      2. Could be too focused in intention

      3. It’s an acronym

      4. Brand equity could be too telecom-focused for recruitment of new verticals

  2.  Open Networking & Edge (ONE) Summit (w descriptive taglines)

    1. Pros:

      1. The “ONE” focus provides ability to create fun narrative campaigns and taglines, as well as visuals and event signage

      2. A simple  non-acronym name moves us away from “shove technology into the name” issue

      3. Asserts a center of gravity confidence

    2. Cons:

      1. ONE Summit is generic and there are similarly named conferences in other industries

      2. Could be construed as arrogant – the “only” show or the “only” place

      3. Likely little possibility for trademark

Next steps: Need to finalize before we can launch website, CFPs, move event planning forward. Naming meeting taking place this week (May 13)

ASKS: 1. looking for folks in P&L to join Programming Committee. Please share any recommendations. 2. Sponsorships are need to fund the event, please look into sponsoring to ensure future of event.
