Use Case Description:

Showcase Level 4 Autonomous 5G Network that can be provisioned using Intents and also maintain intents by effectively managing and resolving conflicts without manual interventions. Use case would use TMF 921 standards for the intent management.

Operators are required to maintain highly complex 5G network based on the varied business requirements/intents. 

Following are the solutions to be addressed in this usecase

  1. Automatically manage network availability, scalability and other quality of services as per business requirements/intents with minimal or zero manual interventions.

  2. Standardize the construct used to write Intents and maintain the same.

  3. Scalable to fulfill Edge, Core and RAN Requirements using intents

  4. Provide agility to autonomously resolve conflicts between the intents

Minutes:

  • Keguang He from China Mobile provided a project update

  • ONAP REQ-1588 Introducing Generative AI Solution Based on Large Models was discussed.

  • Work being done with CAMARA around MaaS (Model as a Service) was discussed.

  • Working is being done on enhancing ONAPs UUI Module to support construction, usage, and management of Large Model applications

  • A request is made to verify the advantages a Telco provider (China Mobile/China Telcom/AT&T/Verizon) has over a cloud provider (Google/Microsoft/Tencent) using these (ONAP-based) approaches.

  • A meeting and demonstration with the ONAP community to discuss how the same API for MaaS can be used by different operators is planned for the last week in September (Sept 26). We are trying to get an invite to that meeting.

  • Next Steps/Goals:

    • Achieve cross-domain intent processing, including business, service, and resources (RAN,  Transport, Core, Edge, and Cloud)

      • What open source components for RAN, Core, Edge are planned? 

    • Continuously enhance the ONAP large model convergence platform to support the integration of more large models

    • Continuously develop intelligent agents based on large models  to promote the evolution of autonomous networks to a higher level of automation and intelligence, achieving optimized allocation and dynamic management of network resource

  • Attached is the preliminary plan for ONAP API specifications. See link to file above

  • We plan to present a demo of ONAP knowledge Q&A based on large models at the ONE Summit.

  • Regarding the installation of nephio, the current issue we identified is related to the network connectivity within our own container, and we are still trying to fix it.

  • Ganesh provided Nehio API specifications: Nephio API

  • Keguang (via email)- The progress on our team mainly involves building an ONAP knowledge Q&A system based on China Mobile's Jiutian large model, which is undergoing further optimization.

  • Potential issue with both CMCC and Infosys attendance at ONE Summit.

  • Keguang provided a project update

    • Issues installing Nephio. Keguang reaching out to Nephio via Slack. Ganesh can also help as Infosys has successfully installed Nephio.

    • John Belamaric - Nephio SME has posted solution on Nephio setup on Slack

    • Keguang was asked to present at an upcoming AI Taskforce meeting to discuss ideas on building out the large model and get feedback.

  • Ganesh will provide Nehio API specifications and requested that Keguang provide ONAP API specifications.

  • One Summit- storyline for end to end plans are laid out

    • Demo with ONAP within reach for ONE Summit

    • Demo with Nephio may have to come later
