Agenda
The Project's Antitrust Policy, which you can find linked from the LF and project websites. The policy is important where multiple companies, including potential industry competitors, are participating in meetings. Please review and if you have any questions, please contact your company legal counsel. Members of the LF may contact Andrew Updegrove at the firm Gesmer Updegrove LLP, which provides legal counsel to the LF.

Cloud Native Telco Initiative - Status Update by @Olivier Smith
The presentation is stored here: Cloud Native Telco Initiative - CNTI
Started with presentation on the challenges in Cloud-Native Network Functions by @Sana Tariq
Addressed challenges in achieving cloud-native network functions.
Highlighted the need for transformation in design and deployment.
Questions raised on Technical Challenges by @Gergely Csatari
Raised concerns about hardware dependencies in network functions.
Questioned if these dependencies were due to lack of evolved technology or inherent needs of telecom networks.
Response to Technical Challenges
Sana Tariq responded, acknowledging the historical and technical depth in telecom standards and network functions.
Discussed the ongoing efforts in software level optimizations and the probable persistence of hardware dependencies.
Outlining of the 3 main focus areas for the CNTI by @Olivier Smith
Best practices, test catalog, and certifications are the 3 main focus areas of the CNTI
The Best Practices focus area will develop community agreed standards for solving challenges related to cloud native networking. It will collaborate with any/all LFN networking projects that are addressing cloud native networking aspects. The goal is to identify mutually areas of interest that can drive greater best practices alignment.
The Test Catalog focus area will develop, expand, and maintain vendor neutral cloud native networking tests that can easily be consumed by downstream projects. The goal is to expand the number of cloud native networking tests which are broadly applicable to any infrastructure and networking application (i.e. foundational cloud native and Kubernetes native tests)
The Certification focus area will define and offer cloud native certifications based on community and project interest.
Community Building and Timeline by @Olivier Smith
Emphasized the need for strong community involvement and setting achievable goals.
Discussed the plans for achieving initial milestones by the ONE Summit.
Governance and Planning by @Olivier Smith
Proposed a temporary governance structure to guide the initiative's early stages.
Proposed 3 co-chairs representing service providers, CNF developers, and the Kubernetes community.
CSP Co-Chair: Looking for volunteer
CNF Vendor Co-Chair: Olivier Smith
Kubernetes Co-Chair: Taylor Carpenter
Emphasized the need for community feedback and continued contributions in shaping the long-term goals and objectives of this initiative.
Encouraged everyone interested in helping this initiative to learn more how they can assist by visiting: Cloud Native Telecom Initiative (CNTI) - LF Networking - LF Networking Confluence
Closing Remarks
Agreed to continue regular reporting on CNTI progress
Suggested a discussion on future of Anuket Assured/CVC to avoid overlaps
Highlighted the importance of community contributions and involvement.
